Privacy Policy

This policy describes the limited visitor information Green County Criminal History may receive, why it is used, and which outside services may process it. By continuing to use the website, you acknowledge these practices. This policy governs this private site only; a Kentucky court, police agency, or records portal applies its own privacy terms after you follow an external link.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search tool is transmitted to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request under its own policy. Green County Criminal History does not keep a separate log of those search terms.

Messages and Contact Submissions

When a visitor sends an email, the message and return address may be retained long enough to respond and maintain ordinary records. The contents are not shared outside the organization unless law requires disclosure.

Data We Gather Automatically

Routine server and analytics logs may collect technical details when a page loads:

  • Page-view times and the pages requested
  • Device type and operating system
  • Browser name and version
  • Internet Protocol address
  • Visit duration and referring site, when available

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files used to measure traffic and understand how visitors move between pages. Analytics providers may combine those measurements into summary reports. Browser controls can block or delete cookies, although doing so may change how some site functions behave.

What We Do With This Data

  • Route a submitted search to the selected outside provider
  • Operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website
  • Measure which Green County resource pages are useful
  • Improve speed, navigation, and reliability
  • Support advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Green County Criminal History does not build, host, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes routing information for the Green County Sheriff, the Office of Circuit Court Clerk, Kentucky State Police, AOC, and the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a dossier about another person, and this website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies power the search boxes. Their policies, not this policy, govern information submitted through those tools. Each provider decides how long it keeps data and when it shares data, so review the provider's terms before proceeding.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Green County offices, Kentucky agencies, court systems, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's privacy policy controls the visit. Review it before providing personal details.

Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. Those systems are outside our control.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be available to:

  • Analytics vendors measuring traffic and performance
  • The provider handling a search request
  • Advertising networks serving site ads
  • A government body or law-enforcement agency acting under valid legal process

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards protect the information we control. No internet service can promise absolute security, however, and this site cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A verified report that a minor supplied such data will be addressed by deleting it when reasonably possible.

Your Data Rights

Applicable Kentucky and federal consumer-protection law may provide rights based on a visitor's residence and the context of collection. The Kentucky Consumer Protection Act, KRS 367.110 through 367.300, is one state-law framework. Subject to legal limits, a visitor may:

  • Request deletion of information linked to the visitor
  • Ask what personal information is retained
  • Seek correction of inaccurate information
  • Object to processing where applicable law provides that choice

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised as services or legal duties change. A revised version will appear here with a new effective date, and continued use after publication means the revised policy applies.

Effective date: July 26, 2026
